Full Mount Fighters

Great night last night at Power Fights #24. The guys at Full Mount MMA are the 2011 Total Team Challenge Champions in convincing fashion.

We started out with 7 guys supposed to be fighting in the event & were limited to 4 fights due to other teams backing out. Out of those 4 fights we went 3-1, with 2 submissions.
1 brutal KO that will be on SPIKE TVs highlight show "World's Greatest Knock Outs" for many years to come.

We also want to take the time to give thanks to all of our fighters, their friends & families for supporting them, their training partners, our Coaches, our Sponsors; Eminent Lifestyle Clothing, Jaco, & Sanctioned Violence, Scoreboards & Power Fights for holding the event, the fans for coming to watch us, & most of all to GOD for keeping our guys safe, strong & healthy during battle.

First up was Tim "Skillet" Young as he took on Frank "Psycho" Nichols. RND 1: Frank comes out fast and puts Skillet on the fence then starts throwing knees. Skillet caught the 2nd knee and lifted Frank over his head as he carried him to his corner before slamming him hard to the mat. The crowd went nutts with the anticipation of the slam. Skillet immediately took side control and started sinking in his version of an arm triangle. It wasn't long after that Frank had to tap at just 1:17 of the 1st round.

Second up was Denny Stenson taking on Nick Parker.
RND 1: The 2 met in the middle of the cage and traded a few punches before Denny clinched and put Parker on the fence. Parker reversed the clinch and landed a takedown, controlling Denny's back. Denny fought off the choke and got back to his feet. Denny left his head too low when putting Parker back on the fence and got caught in a choke at 1:47 in the round.

Up third was Benito Sandoval III going up against Scott Brantner.
RND 1: Brantner shot a takedown that was stuffed by Benny. Benny then throws Brantner to the mat and takes side control. Benny lands strikes from the top as he tries to stop Brantner from scrambling. Brantner gets to his feet as Benny throws a huge right hand that just misses. Brantner looks angry and come back at Benny looking to clinch, but gets thrown again. Brantner scrambles but is suffocated and Benny takes his back. The two finish the round trading knees.
RND 2: Benny comes out circling and just misses a high side kick. After a couple of leg kicks Benny throws a Chuck Norris front kick to the face that nearly decapitates Brantner completely. Brantner falls back into the fence and desperately shoots in at Benny. Benny easily sprawls and sinks in the guillotine choke at just 37 seconds of  round 2.

Last but not least was Brian Gomez in the main event VS Tom Micucci. RND 1: This was a great fight from the very beginning as the two traded punches and kicks feeling each other out. Micucci gets rocks by a straight right from Gomez and dives in for the clinch. Micucci tried a standing arm triangle from the clinch but gets shoved off by Gomez. Gomez lands a combination that puts Micucci to the ground. Gomez dives in on the ground and gets put into a triangle. Gomez postures up and breaks the triangle but still can't escape the guard of Micucci. Gomez is able to stand up out of the guard and with his coaches screaming at him not to, he dives back into the guard of Micucci anyway. After fighting off another triangle attempt form the 6'6" Micucci, Gomez was able to get back to his feet. This time Gomez looked at and listened to his corner as they told him to make Micucci stand up. Micucci stands up as the 10 second warning sound goes off. Gomez immediately pressures Micucci with punches. Micucci lowers his head and starts to throw a left hook, while Gomez counters with a straight overhand right that KOs Micucci at 2:59 of the 1st RND. Micucci was unconscious for over 5 minutes and scared the crowd quite a bit. After about 15 minutes he was able to get to his feet and received a standing ovation from the crowd. He was later diagnosed with a concussion. We are all glad that he is OK, wish him a speedy recovery and can't wait to see him get back in the cage.

Babes & Brawls 8

"Big Sexy" Kyle Symes remains undefeated and improves his record to 7-0-0. Kyle defeated Calvin Cleveland of Team Solo at 2:38 of the 1st Rnd on Saturday Aug, 13th. The fight took place at Cut Throat MMA's Babes & Brawls event held inside Atlantis Gentleman's Club that was completely sold out.

"Big Sexy" holds both the Super Heavyweight & Heavyweight Championships in other organizations. Now that he's gone through all the competition everywhere else, he has his eyes set on Cut Throat gold. Kyle was quoted as saying, "Cut Throat MMA's Heavyweight title is the most coveted & respected belt in the Midwest. So you're damn straight I'm going to work my "BIG SEXY ASS" off until it's around my waist!"
